Christina Carter Named President as Part of Planned Succession

Dear Midcoast Member,

We are excited to share important news about the next chapter in our Credit Union’s leadership. As part of a thoughtful, board-approved succession plan, Christina M. Carter has been appointed President of Midcoast Federal Credit Union, effective April 1, 2026.

Christina brings more than two decades of credit union leadership experience and has played a key role at Midcoast in senior executive positions since 2018. She is well known for her operational expertise, collaborative spirit, and deep commitment to our cooperative values.

“I’m deeply grateful to the Board for their confidence and honored to be selected to serve as president,” said Carter. “I look forward to building on the strong legacy Joe has established and leading Midcoast into its next chapter with a continued focus on our members, our employees, and the communities we serve.”

To ensure a smooth and stable transition, Joseph R. Gervais will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer until his planned retirement in mid-2027. Joe’s leadership over the past decade as President and CEO has guided us through growth, innovation, and greater regulatory complexity, always with a strong focus on member service and our community.
